Geared continuous hinges are generally used for high traffic commercial and industrial entrances. They have a cap that covers the teeth for the entire length of the hinge, and the template pattern of fasteners ensure that door's weight is distributed more evenly to prevent sagging. These heavy duty full mortise continuous hinges are 83" long and have interlocking extrusions (gears). The thrust type bearings are self-lubricating and concealed. The anodized aluminum is highly resistant to corrosion and is available in aluminum and dark bronze finishes.
